The Sound of Music, the final collaboration between the iconic Rodgers & Hammerstein is one of the most beloved musicals of all time. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. With a trove of cherished and widely reproduced songs such as ‘Favourite Things’, ‘Do-Re-Mi’ and the title piece ‘The Sound of Music’, the stage show, and its film adaptation continue to inspire every generation.

With detailed choreography and a live professional orchestra, our production features pupils from John Lyon and several local schools including our girls for the first time since becoming a co-educational School.
