OL Golf Society Spring Season

2nd April – match v The School at Sandy Lodge Golf Course. A very enjoyable match which took place on a cold but sunny windy afternoon on a very fast running course. The OL’s won the match overall 3-2 but it must be said that the boys played very well winning two of the matches comfortably.

1st May – OLGS Spring Meeting at Northwood Golf Course. Played on the hottest day of the year so far the morning 4 ball batter ball was won by Simon Flamank and John Kerley with a strong score of 40 points.

The afternoon singles were strongly contended with Sam Koch winning the scratch prize with a gross 74. Michael Christelow won the Stableford prize with 35 points with Ian Parker second and Simon Flamank third. We were delighted to be joined by President Paul who presented the prizes at the post golf dinner.

8th May – Triangular match at Moor Park against Mill Hill and Haberdashers. Another match played in sunshine and for the first time in 6 years we came out triumphant winning by half a point ahead of Mill Hill in second place.

18th May- playing in The Grafton Morrish Qualifiers at Denham Golf Club Sam Koch Captained our side in a very competitive qualifier where we drawn to play with Merchant Taylors and Malvern. All three pairs played well but there was a feeling that we had left points out on the course which proved to be our undoing and we totaled 73 pts narrowly missed out on reaching the finals.

Our team left to right was Hursh Patel, Amaan Patel, Sam Kotch, Simon Bird, David Lemmon and Nishel Patel.
