Lyonian News |
Returning to John Lyon after nearly 30 years, it was a pleasant surprise to see that much had changed around the school in terms of new buildings whilst still recognising the school’s historical past. The boys (and now girls) are very fortunate to have such great facilities. The purpose of my visit was to see how John Lyon has utilised the suite of Microsoft tools for education and Joshua Carr was kind enough to let me observe one of his classes and talk me through the school’s journey to becoming a Microsoft Showcase school. Coming from an international school in Singapore, it was reassuring to see many of the same technological and pedagogical principles in use at the centre of John Lyon’s implementation of OneNote, Teams and alongside the deployment of student and staff pen-enabled devices to facilitate this. It was a welcome start to my week visiting independent schools in the London area and attending a conference on educational technology.
