Alongside Sarina Wiegman’s honorary Damehood and several of the Lionesses awards, Ritan has been recognised for his contribution to football and player care within the FA. After leaving John Lyon in 1997, Ritan went on to study Medicine at King’s College London. From starting as a GP to becoming a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine and the Head of women’s medical at the FA, Ritan has built an impressive professional journey – with his experience spanning an array of elite sporting environments, including Barnet FC, Watford FC, Reading FC, the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, Tokyo 2020 Olympics and multiple UEFA Women’s Euro’s and FIFA Women’s World Cups since 2014. He was the Head of Medical to the Lionesses in the back-to-back UEFA European Championship successes in England 2022 and Switzerland 2025.
