Reunions |
It was a pleasure to welcome back Simon Bird, Richard Borgonon, Ronnie Jacob, Tom O'Connor, Simon Offredy, David Salmond and Sheldon Stoutt from the Class of 1974.
For some, this was the first time they had returned since leaving in the 70s, and as a surprise we treated them to a whole new John Lyon experience. They enjoyed (what we now call) a traditional school lunch in the New Memorial Hall amongst the pupils and staff - sharing stories of what lunch time was like when they were pupils. Choosing between an array of hot dishes, salads and a sweet treat to end the meal.
Following lunch, the reminiscing continued with a tour where they discussed the similarities and differences of the buildings and rooms. Ending in the Reeves Room in the Red House, where we had gathered memorabilia from the archive - including the School Rules. We were also kindly joined by Mrs Rose Hardy (Head) and Mr Andy Sims (Deputy Head) - wanting to hear the stories of what John Lyon was like and what they've accomplished since leaving.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, these reunions are a fantastic way to reconnect with the School and old friends. If you're interested in arranging a reunion, please contact: lyonianassociation@johnlyon.org
