Further to Les Allen-Williams' reminiscences of JL school in the 60s and his photo of the school cross country championship in Ruislip Woods in 1960, I remember that race very well as the thick mud (evident from Les' photo!) sucked off one of my shoes and not wanting to stop I finished the race just behind these leaders minus one shoe!
Attached is a photo of the school cross country team in 1960 (I think) with Heryet as captain in the front centre and yours truly at the back left hand end. Can't remember all the names I'm afraid after 60 years!
