Roy, a pupil from 1955 to 1960, recently wrote to us expressing a memorable story from Speech Day:
"Mr Weedon had a skill of persuading me,and others, to “volunteer” to take part in a gymnastic programme on Speech Day. He said “come on Wallis, it will only be 30 seconds”. This was true but in fact, it felt like 5 minutes. I had a lot of time for him and followed his career and life until his death. Good man."
It's a pleasure to also learn that since leaving 66 years ago, Roy and his fellow cohort still try and meet every 3 years or so. Their last reunion was in 2022.
