As the pressure of final exams approach the last Head Boy Lunch Lecture Series of the year was not as well attended as we would have hoped. This will be the first time this year group sit external exams due to the pandemic so understandable worries! However, that did not deter from the brilliant session held by Adam Isaacs OL 1984, with Head boy Vinay K. and prefect David S. who had a very intellectual conversation with very thought provoking questions from the students.
Adam joined the Civil Service as part of the inaugural European Fast Stream. He worked in the Department of the Environment, European Commission in Brussels, local government in Hackney and Regeringskansliet in Stockholm before joining the European Parliament in Brussels permanently.
He has worked across research during the EU accession of Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Hungary and then moved towards a policy advisory role for the centre right political group in Parliament. He was then in charge of the unit for legal and constitutional affairs and became Deputy Secretary General for the Euopean Conversatives and Reformists.
Adam now has responsibility for the bilateral relationships with the parliaments of Turkey, Western Balkans, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway an the UK. An impressive career so far and the School are most grateful for Adam's time.
