Teaching our Lower Sixth students about his personal journey through University, his gap year and setting up his business, Career Accelerator.
Mayur offered career advice to the pupils who are interested in starting a business, but gave them greater intentions by setting wider insights around personal growth and development, which Mayur found through volunteering, continued learning and the importance of overall happiness. Making sure the students got involved by discussing with each other their plans for the future and how Mayur's advice will benefit them.
In 2017, Mayur founded his company 'Career Accelerator', a youth organisation that helps people from diverse backgrounds prepare for professional careers through employer support via employee volunteering, social impact, mentoring and so much more. It is now a 6-figure business, partnering with over 30 state schools and 10 universities across the country, the UK's 3 leading LGBT+ career conferences and 25 top business.
His dedication to this cause has been recognised on the OUTstanding and Empower Lists several times and he was also named as a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2022. Mayur has previously spoken at The Econonist, The Labour Party and Teach First, and has contributed towards 2 books - DiversityEd and 26 Friends: Lessons to learn before it's too late.
Thank you to Mayur for joining us and giving our students and staff such an inspirational lecture.
