We were delighted to welcome back a group of inspirational Old Lyonians, who generously shared their diverse career journeys, offering students invaluable insights into pathways within STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

🔹 Neal Kanabar (OL 2014) captivated students with his experiences as a mechanical engineer, working across aerospace, MedTech, battery technology, and the automotive industries. His journey highlighted the breadth of opportunities in engineering and the transformative power of innovation.

🔹 Brindon Bagirathan (OL 2011) shared how his career pivoted from finance to trichology technology, ultimately leading him to become the CEO of Zestige, a pioneering hair transplant clinic. His story was a powerful reminder of the importance of curiosity, adaptability, and pursuing one’s passion.

🔹 Yahya Bachelani (OL 2013) who began his career as a pharmacist, is now an influential mathematics teacher. He emphasised how maths is a universal language that underpins industries as diverse as finance, technology, and engineering, highlighting its enduring relevance.

🔹 Gemma Holland, Head of Art at John Lyon School, passionately discussed the evolving relationship between art and technology. She underscored how creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression are not only vital to the arts but also essential skills for innovation and problem-solving across all sectors.

The event was a thought-provoking and inspiring experience, broadening students' perspectives on the vast possibilities of STEAM careers. It encouraged them to embrace curiosity, adaptability, and creativity - qualities that are essential for future success.

A huge thank you to our OL speakers for giving back to the School community and inspiring the next generation of innovators and leaders.
