Last summer, Louis Lavers (OL), recruited half a dozen recent leavers from John Lyon School to work with him at Transfer Connex, a currency transfer business.

He planned a project over the summer to increase sales and came to the Lyonian Office looking for talented and hard-working individuals to bring it to life.  We asked him a few questions about how it went:

Why did you come to us to help staff your project?

"We know that by coming to JLS we will be advertising directly to high quality candidates.  The advertising is also free and the students provide great value."

How did the OLs perform?

"The JLS interns worked really well together in a team and provided their own competitive environment." 

"They were also really good company and there was a lot of office banter - especially after they all got themselves stuck in a lift together for an hour on one of the hottest days of last summer!"

Would you do it again?

"Yes, we were really pleased last time with the number of OLs who applied to work with us and are advertising again this year, and in fact are expanding it to another business I am involved with."  (See here to view the internships currently on our network.)

"Looking to the future, I also hope that bringing in talented Lyonians straight from School increases the likelihood of them returning post-university to permanent graduate roles."
