Dear all,
Our team took part in this year’s Grafton Morrish West Group qualifying at Denham Golf Club on Sunday.
Under Rob Palmer’s leadership we were able to assemble the best team we have had available, certainly in my time as Secretary so I was quietly confident that this year would be the year that we finally made it to the finals in Norfolk.
It is no easy task with only 6 teams qualifying out of 15 and gathered around the 18th green watching our last pair Sam and Simon coming in as the last group of the day it was clear that it was going to be close.
We managed to match the 6th best score of 79 points ( most years 75 pts is good enough) so there was a lengthy wait to see if we would squeeze in.
Given our three groups all had good back 9’s we qualified on count back and will be going to the finals for the first time since 1996!
