On Friday 15 March, we were delighted to welcome Lieutenant General Andrew Harrison DSO, MBE (OL 1985) for our first Biennial Inspection. Lieutenant General Harrison is one of the highest-ranking officers in the British Army and has served as Deputy Commander of United Nations Command in South Korea and is the Colonel Commandant of the Parachute Regiment.
As well as Lieutentant General Harrison, we also welcomed back Colin Nunn (OL 1966) who donated the shooting award, Martin Mather (OL 1965), Peter Owen (OL 1966) and Robin Hooper (OL 1971).
The Biennial Inspection saw a range of activities performed by the Cadets, including the Honour Guard, Corps of Drums, a First Aid simulation, Command Tasks, Code Breaking, Camouflage and Concealment and Section Attack. For the first time we presented the inaugural Colin Nunn trophy for shooting, won by Corporal Vansh Patel, with Troop 3. The Commandos awarded The Gurney Cup for Physical Drill and Efficiency, which was first awarded in 1925.
Congratulations to all Cadets and Contingent Staff who worked tirelessly to make this first inspection a success!
