The Railway Magazine had written an article during 2022 about the old Metropolitan electric loocs. Peter Billington (OL 1969-1976) wrote a 'thank you' note and shared a photograph of John Lyon pupils from the early 1970's who attended the denaming ceremony of the Metropolitan Railway locomotive No1 John Lyon which was held at the London Transport, Neasden Depot.
Mr Gordon Surtees, Head at the time, took a number of pupil's to collect the nameplate which resides at the School Red House building.
Peter's letter was published in the December 2022 and shared the article with the Lyonian Association. We are grateful to share such memories.
