Lyonian News

George and Bradley Kelly (OL 2016) - Together, George and Bradley ran the London Marathon raising money for the Stroke Association, in dedication of their grandma who  suffered a stroke in 2024 right before Christmas. George told us it was serious and she is and always will be in full-time nursing care because of it. With this life changing moment, George and Bradley wanted to give back to a charity that was close to them, helps research, and supports victims and their families. At the beginning of May, they had raised 6k, with George's employer, AMEX, matching 3k - bringing the total to 9k!

Rohan Singh (OL 2021) - Rohan took part after qualifying through the sub elite entries, giving him the opportunity to return home and run. He now works for Nestle in Washington DC, who highly encourage a healthy, active lifestyle and completely supported his marathon adventure. Rohan told us that during his time at John Lyon, the school did the same with supporting him as an elite swimmer, building healthy habits and disclipine that allows him to run marathons.

Dev Patel (OL 2022) - Dev ran the marathon to raise money for a charity called OneCause, a charity that focus on equal education opportunities in India and Africa. Dev impressively raised £2,500 for OneCause.

Dev and fellow OL, Adam Amzel (OL 2022), had also taken part in the 2026 Madrid Marathon back in March.

Aston Ellard (OL 2022) - Aston had also taken part in the marathon, he is currently playing for Horsham FC, after being moved to Barnsley at the start of the 2025-26 campaign from Coventry City under-21s.
