Adam is planning on climbing the highest mountains in the UK this year in honour of my late brother Fred, who died from a heart attack on May 25th 2023, raising money for the British Heart Foundation. Despite Fred never being diagnosed with any underlying heart issues, matters of the heart were always important to Fred, as he often wondered - why did young people die from sudden heart attacks? Not knowing that he would be one of these people.
While reaching out, Adam spoke about how important his time at John Lyon was for his development as a teenager. Especially grateful for the PE Department, and how he was taught the power of discipline and to constantly push himself - keeping these values with him as climbs the summits this year.
If you're able to, Adam would be beyond grateful for any donations to the Just Giving Page he has set up here. He has set for himself to inspire others that are struggling with grief and loss, reminding everyone that although we cannot change the fact that our loved ones are not with us physically, we can use these emotions to undertake journeys and experiences that honour our loved ones and raise awareness for important causes, especially those of the heart.
