On 24 April, 2026 the Lyonian Association proudly hosted the 112th Annual Old Lyonian Dinner at the School, bringing together generations of Lyonians for an evening filled with friendship, nostalgia and celebration.
Old Lyonians were welcomed back to familiar surroundings with an exclusive tour of the School led by the John Lyon Head Prefect Team, revisit memories while seeing how the School continues to evolve for future generations.
The evening also featured a preview of John Lyon’s new online digital archive, presented by the SDS Group. Attendees enjoyed exploring a glimpse into the School’s rich history.
More than 150 Old Lyonians attended the dinner, creating a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening. For many, it was the first time they had seen one another since leaving School, while others reunited to celebrate our 150th anniversary together. Across the dining hall, conversations flowed effortlessly alongside laughter, shared memories and renewed friendships.
A particularly special highlight of the evening was welcoming back more than 25 members of the Class of 1976 as they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Several had travelled from as far afield as Australia to attend, demonstrating the enduring strength of the Lyonian community and the lifelong connections formed at the School. A huge thank you goes to Rick Harrigan for bringing the group together and helping make the reunion such a success.
The evening concluded with a delicious three-course dinner and plenty of opportunity for guests to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate the remarkable spirit of the Lyonian community.
We would also like to thank the SDS Group for presenting the digital archive initiative and Thomas Franks for the amazing catering.
A huge thank you to all our OLs who have generously donated to the 150 for £150 initiative.
