It was wonderful seeing Adam (OL 2020) return, albeit not recognisable with a beard! Adam delivered a speech at our Offer Holder Event where parents of all 11+ and 13+ applicants have an opportunity to see the school in action before they accept their offer. Parents were welcomed by pupils who gave them a tour around the school before listening to a variety of panellists including a preview of our upcoming Drama production ‘A Monster Calls’ performed by pupils between Year 7 and 10 (book your tickets here:http://: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-monster-calls-tickets-823786235807?aff=oddtdtcreator and listening to our School’s Jazz Band featuring Luke Rao (OL 2010).
Adam delivered an uplifting insight into his journey at the School and after the event spoke inidividually to many paretns, providng them reasurance on sending their child to John Lyon.
For Adam and his cohorts who left in 2020, it was a challenging year with the UK going into lockdown amid threats of the spread of coronavirus. Grades were predicted for students who should have been sitting their GCSE and A-Level exams - Adam went on to study Anthropology and Law and other social sciences at LSE and is currently in his final year of completing his Masters.
