We are delighted to share that Paul Frampton, OL 1958, has recently been awarded the prestigious titles of Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman-Elect of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots (waiting to be invested in May).
This remarkable achievement reflects both Paul’s lifelong passion for aviation and his commitment to upholding centuries-old traditions.
The City of London, home to Livery Companies for hundreds of years, originally established these organisations to regulate trades and promote the highest standards of professional conduct. Today, there are 110 such companies, with members over the years including monarchs, military leaders like Montgomery, political figures such as Winston Churchill, and cultural icons including Barbara Windsor.
Paul explained that his journey began when he became a Freeman of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, joining in recognition of his deep interest and connection with aviation. The process involved formal admission ceremonies and the declaration of loyalty, placing him in a distinguished lineage of individuals who have made significant contributions to their trades, communities, and country.
Today, Paul proudly holds both titles and John Lyon congratulates Paul on this achievement, which stands as an inspiring example of how passion, professionalism, and tradition can come together in truly remarkable ways.
