What year did you leave John Lyon (Class of)?
2016

What did you do after leaving John Lyon?
Motorsport UK academy; Racing driver; Motorsport coach/Instructor; Presenter/commentator.

Can you describe what you have done in your career so far?
In 2017, I made my debut in car racing, being backed by the Renault Retail group to compete in the Renault Clio Jnr championship. I won my car racing debut and went on to win three out of my first six races. Finished 3rd in the championship and was nominated for the Motorsport UK Young Driver of the Year. 2018-2019, I competed in Formula Ford and claimed multiple podiums and class wins. At the end of the year, the Formula Ford festival qualified 2nd but had contact with the previous year's champion. I ended up finishing 11th in the final. In 2020-2021 I was given the drive to a new F3 team in the British F3 series. Before the year was out, I was given a drive to an established team that had fought for the title the year preceding and went on to claim a podium. 2022, I was meant to be going to America, but after the deal fell through at the last minute, I was offered a drive in the GB4 Championship the week of the first race. I got ten podiums, two poles and finished 3rd in the championship. In 2023, I got the lead development and test driver role of the Formula Foundation car. I was also a frequent commentator and presenter for the GB3 and GB4 championship whilst also coaching a team in GB4.

How did your experience at John Lyon prepare you for/or shape your future?
John Lyon gave me a confidence in myself that has been instrumental when it comes to public speaking and talking to the media. They allowed and supported me to chase my dreams.

What has been your proudest achievements so far?
Winning my debut car race and finishing on the podium in British Formula 3.

What was your fondest memory from being at John Lyon?
It's hard to choose as I have so many fond memories of being at John Lyon. The mountaineering expeditions were truly special, tracking in the Atlas Mountains and Snowdonia. Adventuring with my friends and the freedom the school gave us on these trips meant we had a wonderful time and learnt so much. Also, being a part of the Jazz band, I remember on Sports Day once playing in the Jazz band, running to compete in my race and then as soon as I crossed the line, I just continued running back to the band to continue playing.

Are you still involved with the School and if so, in what way and why is it important for you to be involved in this way?
Only very recently with giving a talk. I was happy to share my experience at the school and what I went onto do after. The school has always been good at showing students paths in life that is not just in academia.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a current pupil?
Don't give up. It is the only way to guarantee it won't happen.
