Reunions |
The number 50 was very symbolic for the Class of 1973 – a 50th reunion took place on Friday 23rd June at the Ernest Young Refectory, a building that did not exist when this group of cohorts attended John Lyon School 50 years ago.
The evening began with a tour given by Prefects Ismael, Asan and Imran – as they toured the School, many anecdotes were recalled, shared and assessed on who did what, where and placing new learning settings to how it was ‘done’ in their time. Listening to many whose friendship continued over the course of five decades and for some meeting each other for the first time since leaving was humbling to see.
A huge thank you to Andy Marsden-Jones and Mike Christlelow for bringing this charming group together, Paul Goldstein who flew-in from Athens and to everyone who travelled near and far for a lovely evening, with wonder food, plenty of conversations and perhaps a little more than a tipple or two. It would not go a miss without saying thank you to our catering staff for the wonderful food, setting and support in making the event a success - it truly was a pleasure welcoming back this year group.
